This page contains details of the Partnership's agreed strategy for Hornsea.

Hornsea Masterplan:

This document was commissioned by the Hornsea Area Regeneration Partnership to provide a long-term vision and framework for renaissance activities in Hornsea.

The aim is to make Hornsea a more appealing place to live, work visit and invest in.

There are 7 objectives for the town:

  • to increase and improve facilities and services, and access to them;
  • to support economic diversification and identify new opportunities;
  • to better understand the visitor economy and develop the visitor experience;
  • to develop a good marketing strategy to promote Hornsea and make it a place people want to visit time and time again;
  • to create and improve transport links and routes within the town and with outlying areas;
  • to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic management, especially during summer; and.
  • to ensure all new developments  and public realm projects are to a high quality and an appropriate design.

There are 6 Area Interventions covering the town centre, promenade, Mere and Freeport.  In addition there are 6 Themes covering: transport & access; training & business support; community facilities & services; open spaces; culture & heritage; and tourism, events & marketing.

When was the Consultation Period?

The public consultation period was Monday 18 June-Friday 20 July 2007.

What's the next step?

The HARP Board signed off this document at its March 2008 meeting.
