Hornsea is a small seaside town situated about half way between Spurn Point and Bridlington.  The seafront boasts a long stretch of promenade and a Blue Flag beach.  Part of the town centre is within a Conservation Area and there are several historical buildings of note - including Bettison's Folly and St Nicholas' Church.  The old town grew up on the edge of Hornsea Mere, which was formed during the last Ice Age and is Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake.

Full of Family Fun

The miles of golden sand and the stunning freshwater Mere have captivated visitors to Hornsea for over 250 years. Whether you enjoy playing on the beach, shopping or visiting the museum and other attractions there will be something for the family to enjoy.

Where to eat

For many the seaside is the best place to eat fish and chips and visitors will not be left disapointed as there are loads of fish and chip shops catering for the throings of tourists both along the sea front and inthe town centre. As well as fish and chip shops there is a wide range of restaurants and bars offering everything from pizza and pie to ciabatta to curry and not forgetting the tradional pub grub and cafes. For those with a sweet tooth there are plenty of mouthwatering treats such as ice cream, candy floss and rock along the sea front. If you prefer to bring a picnic along there are some lovely, relaxing location to enjoy such as Hall Garth park, Memorial Gardens or the beach and promenade.
